This policy explains what personal data is collected when you use colinjames.ch, sign up for the free training structure, or buy a training program, and what your rights are. It follows Swiss data protection law (revDSG) and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

The controller responsible for processing your personal data is:

Colin Simmler, sole proprietor, trading under the name Colin James

Switzerland

2. What data is collected, and when

When you visit this website. This site is hosted by Webflow. When you open a page, the hosting infrastructure automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the time of the request. This happens for every website and is necessary to deliver the page and keep the service secure and stable.

When you sign up for the free training structure. You provide your email address, and optionally your first name. This is processed through MailerLite, which stores your subscription and sends you the material and any follow-up emails. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

When you buy a training program. The program is delivered through the FITR platform. To create your account and receive the program, FITR processes your name, email address, age and country of residence, along with the training data you enter yourself, such as logged sets, weights and benchmark results. Payment is processed by Stripe, which handles your card or payment details directly. Full payment card numbers are never received or stored by Colin James.

When you contact directly. If you send an email or a message inside the training app, the content of that message and your contact details are processed in order to answer you.

3. Why this data is processed, and on what legal basis

4. Service providers

Personal data is shared only with the service providers needed to run this business, and only to the extent needed:

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy terms. Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone for advertising purposes.

5. Data transfers abroad

Some of the providers listed above operate outside Switzerland, including in the European Union and the United States. Where data is transferred to a country without an equivalent level of data protection, the transfer is based on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses agreed with the provider.

6. How long data is kept

7. Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies that are technically necessary to deliver the pages and remember basic settings. If you also run analytics or tracking such as Google Analytics, a Meta pixel, or similar, that must be named here, together with what it collects and how consent is obtained. If no analytics or tracking is running on the site, delete this paragraph and keep only the sentence above.

8. Your rights

You have the right to request information about the personal data held about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data deleted, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise any of these rights, write to the contact address in section 1. You may be asked to confirm your identity before information is released.

If you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you are resident in the European Union, you may also complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

9. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are taken to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted transmission over HTTPS and access controls on the platforms used. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
